Learn to Pray Effectively, No. 6

Your Personal Prayer List: 

1. Thanksgiving. "Enter into his gates with thanks giving" 10 lepers were cleansed and only one returned to give thanks, "In the last days men shall be unthankful."

2. Praise. "and into his court with praise" "O thou that inhabits the praises of Israel." Psalm 22:3. God is so good. He is wonderful. Tell Him so. Praise Him. Worship Him.

3. Say, "I love You." Three times He asked Peter, "Do you love me?" He loves to hear us tell Him, "I love You" as much as we love to hear it. This will prepare your heart for prayer as much as anything. Don't leave that first love. We desperately need to "stay in love with Jesus!" By the way, I have found I need to say "I love you" to my wife and children every day.

4. Ask for wisdom. Solomon asked for wisdom and look at all the by products that came with wisdom. In Proverbs God tells us wisdom is more valuable that gold or silver or precious stones and God says, "above all things seek wisdom." To make the right choices and decisions you and I need a ton of wisdom. We don't have the foggiest idea of what will happen five minutes from now and so we need wisdom from above. "If any man lack wisdom, let him ask of God who gives liberally." This will save you many wrecks in life and heart aches along the way.

Write these out on your prayer list so you do not forget or neglect them.  I hope God is using these in your life. Here is what one person said to me, "Tell him he's got to get well quickly so he can finish that series on prayer. I look forward to each lesson." GOD DID THAT! Oh dear people, to be used of God, that is what life is all about.
