Oh, That We Would All
Bear One Hundredfold
"But he that received seed into the good ground is he that
heareth the word and understandeth it which also beareth fruit and bringeth
forth some an hundredfold, some sixty, and some thirty" Matt. 13:23.
They must "understand" the gospel The gospel is that "Christ died for our
sins, was buried, rose again, and was seen by hundreds" 1 Cor. 15:1-4. That
and that alone is what we must believe in and trust to get us into heaven.
How terribly sad and eternally awful that the gospel, too often, is not
being preached clearly and no wonder we have tons of church members who are
not saved.
They will bear fruit
"Which also bringeth forth fruit." There must be a change in birth, behavior
and fruit bearing. Doesn't that make sense?
They will bear different amounts
"Some thirty fold." You would be terribly disappointed in a car that only
ran on a 30 % capacity. Some sixty fold, better but far what they ought to
bear for the God who saved them. Some an hundredfold. This should be the
norm.
I led a teen age girl to Christ. In the next four months we saw over 30 in
her family get saved because she prayed and witnessed to them and got them
to church. Oh, that every child of God was that eager to get their loved
ones to Christ and bore fruit like that.
One day I had the joy of leading an 18 year old boy to Christ who is now a
chaplain in the military and has led over 6000 military people to Christ. We
could change the world if every Christian produced fruit like that.
O dear people, how much are you producing? Pray and practice to produce
fruit abundantly to His glory.
"He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless
come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him" Psalm 126:6. |
