Merry Christmas!
This year marked some serious life-changing events. One milestone: we
went from a wild and care-free couple to a very tired family of three!
But not before we went on a cruise to the Caribbean, vacationed in San
Antonio, sold our house, bought a new house, switched jobs and upgraded
to a family-friendly SUV. Now you see why we’re exhausted and that’s
before Reid Jacob joined us on September 16th.

Throughout the many
changes, God has been good. Alyssa had a fairly healthy pregnancy –
minus the extreme morning sickness that lasted well into her second
trimester – and enjoyed numerous long walks with spoiled little Selah
(our 1 year old Bichon Frise). Steve switched offices in July, moving
into his position on the C-5, the largest cargo plane in the Air Force.
He’s still learning the ins-and-outs of the new program and is enjoying
the change of pace from training aircraft.

It’s hard to look back
at 2007 and not think, “Wow!” Especially, when it comes to our new role
as parents. We’ve seen Reid through those early infant days, learning
how to bathe, swaddle, and decipher the difference between his many
cries to his well-adjusted sleep/eat patterns and those melt-your-heart
smiles. At three months, he’s still a light eater but has such sunny
disposition. He’s found his hands, which are never too far from his
face, and tracks well with his eyes, especially when Daddy’s making
those funny faces! Selah has adjusted to the lil’ guy, too, although she
sneaks the occasional lick when she thinks we’re not watching. On
November 25th, we had the privilege of dedicating him to the Lord during
the morning church service. It will be so special to watch him grow and
develop over the months/years ahead.

The year ended with the
opportunity to introduce Reid to his aunts, uncles and cousins at
Thanksgiving. He looks forward to meeting Uncle Riley when he returns
from his mission trip to Iraq next August.

We want to close by
wishing you a Merry Christmas and God’s richest blessings in 2008.
God Bless,
